Tryouts/Placement September 19, 2020 at Capitol City Baptist for the following age groups:

Girls 3rd-7th grade 3:00-4:00 PM

  • If your daughter turns 13 before Sept 1 she should not come

Boys ages 8-12 (boys 10U and 12U) - 4:00 - 5:30

  • Age is as of Sept 1, 2020

Boys ages 13 and 14 - 5:30 - 7:00

  • Age is as of Sept 1, 2020

Boys ages 15 and 16 - 7:00 - 8:30

  • All boys ages 15 and 16 as of Sept 1, 2020 should attend this tryout/placement, even if they are trying out for Boys Varsity.

Boys ages 17 and 18 and Girls ages 13 to 18 -- no tryouts planned as of now, but please register anyway.  We may schedule a tryout/placement another day for those age groups but for now we are trying to get our ducks in a row in regards to our numbers for each team.

Age eligibility is determined by the child's age on Sept 1, 2020. For example, if a child turns 11 on September 2nd they are still eligible to play in 10U age division because they were 10 on September 1st. Although they are eligible for 10U, you may choose to register them for tryouts of an older team, but that doesn't guarantee placement on that team.  This example applies to all age groups.

Thank you for registering your child for CHAP Basketball Tryouts for this upcoming season. We are excited for another great year of basketball!

Youth Soccer Big News

CHAP is excited to announce that the LA Dragons soccer club has agreed to take over the leadership of homeschool youth soccer in the mid-Michigan area. The LA Dragon board is very like-minded with the CHAP board through their focus on spiritual development in a competitive athletic environment. Over the years dozens of CHAP youth soccer participants have moved on to LA Dragon Junior High and High School teams, so the transition of the youth soccer program to the Dragons is a very natural fit. The Dragons leadership is excited and well-equipped to move mid-Michigan homeschool youth soccer forward in a positive direction. Special thanks to Keith Hall, Mike Potter, Matt Rottman and JT Delaney, who have played integral roles in CHAP's youth soccer program over the years. You can find out more about the Dragon program by visiting their website -- www.ladragons.net.
