The CHAP Sr. High Boys team finished in the Runner Up trophy position, 2nd among 19 teams, at the annual Laingsburg Invitational on Thursday, August 23rd. Scoring 77 points behind Fowlerville's 56 points, the Chariots were led by four strong Senior runners who finished among the top 12 out of 150 runners. These four Seniors, who each earned Top 30 Meet medalist honors, were John Gulock (8th in 17:54), Noah Nunez (10th in 18:05), Lewis DeGoffau (11th in 18:07), and Noah Minnaar (12th in 18:09). They were followed in the fifth scoring position by Sophomore team member Joseph Carson (40th in 19:58). The Chariots ran well as a group, moving up steadily throughout the race. Winning the weekly PR Improvement Award for this meet was newcomer Alexander Hundt, who improved his PR by 1:22 with a new best of 21:05, good for 70th place overall. The Chariots will look to continue improving their times at the annual Bret Clements Invitational hosted by Bath High School on Saturday, September 8th.
