Some are Close Ones and Some are Blowouts

The travel JH team started off their two games against Novi with a convinsing win over Novi’s JH team.  In the second half of the double header they took on Novi’s JV.  Early in the game the Chariots looked intimidated but as the game wore on they came into their own and three point shooting from Caleb LaPorte, Matt Al-Ashari, and Joel DeSpelder kept them in the game.  But the they were unable to pull off the upset losing by only four points.

Over in Owosso the local JH team started their game with a 18-8 first half and kept complete control of the game until the four quarter when Owosso applied the press.  The Chariots were unable to score effectively and the Falcons climbed back into the game.  Then with 3 seconds left in regulation and CHAP up two the Chariots’ inbound pass was stolen and put in with time expiring to put the game into over time.  Where the Chariots figured out the press and hung on to win 29-27.

In the girls varsity game, early turnover plagued the Chariots and resulted in a six point half time deficit.  But in the second half the tables were turned and CHAP capitalize on the Falcon turnovers with easy transition baskets propelling them to a 53-42 win. Box Score

The boys varsity games was over early as for the second straight game they put up a 50 point first half, leading 52-5.  In the second half the younger guys got a chance to put in some solid minutes and CHAP coasted to an easy 68-16. Wraping up a CHAP sweep of Owosso.

CHAP Takes Care of HAACH in Two out of Three

In the first game last night the JV team started their season with a 34-27 win.   Owen Russell lead a balanced scoring attack for the Chariots which had four players with nine points or more.

Unfortunately the Girls Varsity had less luck against Howell.  After falling behind early they never recovered.

The Boys Varsity started off slow with many first game mistakes and turnovers resulting in a four point half time lead.  In the second half they settled down, stepped up the defense, and made free throws to pull away and win the game 66-47.  Alex Gingery lead the CHAP scoring with 32 points including 12-14 from the free throw line.

The Boys Varsity has their first two conference games this Saturday and all three teams will host the Jackson Homeschoolers on Tuesday the 25th with games starting at 5:00pm at Aim High Sports.
